Senior Customs & Foreign Trade Consultant

Taric offers a range of customs management solutions, including regulatory and tariff services, consultancy, training, process control and documentation management solutions to carriers, customs brokers, logistics providers, multinationals, and public institutions.

The Role

As a Senior Consultant, you’ll drive the end-to-end analysis and application of customs, tax, and foreign trade legislation across Spanish, European, and international frameworks. Your work will directly inform: - Tariff databases and AI-integrated customs software - Specialized publications, training programs, and legal advisories - Strategic consultancy projects, including EU Commission initiatives like Access2Markets - Tailored training for clients and institutions (Customs, Chambers of Commerce, EU You’ll also provide legal and commercial guidance to Taric-WiseTech Global clients, contribute to automation of trade content creation, and support internal audits and procedural reviews for customs operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and apply customs and foreign trade legislation across multiple jurisdictions
• Draft technical content for databases, websites, and training platforms (WiseTech Academy)
• Integrate AI tools to maintain and enhance tariff and customs declaration systems
• Collect and structure data from European and Latin American markets
• Deliver legal and commercial advice on trade regulations
• Lead consultancy projects on customs, product marketing, and indirect taxation
• Conduct training sessions in collaboration with public and private institutions
• Automate editorial workflows for trade publications using AI and structured data
• Review and develop internal customs procedures and audit frameworks

Required Skills

• Fluent English (additional European language highly valued)
• Strong professional writing and analytical skills
• Experience drafting legal/technical content in trade, law, or consultancy settings
• Tech-savvy with a keen interest in emerging AI technologies
• Solid understanding of customs and foreign trade legislation
• Experience managing documentation with public authorities
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Business, International Relations, or Sociology

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with Visual Studio Code and GIT repositories
• Working knowledge of XML, YAML, Markdown, HTML, JSON, and Python
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills
