What are you studying and when are you due to graduate?
I’m studying a Bachelor of Information Technology at UTS and I’ll graduate at the end of this year.
Why did you decide to study your degree?
I chose my degree because I had an interest in IT and in gaining work experience in this field.
Have you always known you wanted to work in tech?
Somewhat. IT has always fascinated me, I just generally enjoy learning and IT is a field that heavily facilitates that.
Which team are you currently in at WiseTech and what sort of work are you doing?
I am currently in the GLOW product team, where I mainly write reviews on GLOW test rigs to help meet the needs of app developers and app users.
What was it about WiseTech that appealed to you?
WiseTech's structure and culture greatly fascinated me. Communication is the foundation for learning, so by being able to talk to anyone at any time at WiseTech, I can easily facilitate my learning.
What are you hoping to get out of your time at WiseTech?
From my experience so far, WiseTech is a company that greatly facilitates an intern's onboarding and learning process. I aim to use my time at WiseTech to make meaningful contributions to the company and its customers, along with upskilling myself to prepare for a future career in IT. WiseTech, as a global leader in international logistics software, is bound to provide me with invaluable insight into what it is like to work with important information technology.
What (or who) inspires or motivates you in life?
I enjoy learning and seeing progress, which works as a motivator for me.
If you choose anyone to mentor you, who would it be and why?
Warren Buffett. He’s clearly doing something right, so there could be a lot I could learn from him.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Invest in bitcoin, or just ask more questions and enjoy yourself as much as possible.
