Credit & Collections Officer

Reporting to the Collections Manager and working within a high performing team you as Credit and Collections Officer will be responsible for debtor management and performing daily collection activities across multiple businesses, systems and global geographies.

You will ensure the timely collection of outstanding cash and reduce exposure to bad debt. Day to day tasks include contacting customers by email, phone and ensuring regular dunning procedures are followed. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships is also key.

Your primary focus will be:

• Day to day monitoring and management of debtor ledgers
• Contacting customers by email and phone, including making outbound calls confidently to expedite cash collection
• Managing dunning procedures
• Accurately reconciling customer accounts, tracing payments, resolving discrepancies, and proactively identifying issues that require managerial intervention
• Referral and management of aged debt to external collection agencies
• Providing timely and accurate reports on the status of accounts, including aged debt analysis and collection progress
• Focusing on a process-driven approach for credit collection establishing clear, consistent steps to efficiently manage the collection of outstanding payments

Who you are:

• Previous experience in a similar Credit/Collections position
• Member of the AICM (Australian Institute of Credit Management) highly regarded
• Comfortable with learning and working with multiple new computer systems - Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience highly regarded
• Self-motivated, highly organized and results driven
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Due to the global nature of the role, multilingual capabilities will be highly regarded.
