Role Overview:

Our BorderWise team is global, with team members located worldwide. They are responsible for the development and support of global Harmonized Tariff Schedules, classification tools, and compliance software. They ensure our BorderWise product upholds the highest standard for declaration reporting and all cross-border customs and trade compliance.

Our position requires practical knowledge of customs and cross-border legislative requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with meticulous attention to detail. Responsibilities include reading, interpreting, and verifying data and legislation in order to contribute to the development of our product.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Build out global libraries and unique customs compliance capabilities
  • Understand jurisdictional variabilities of the WCO harmonized system, customs regulations, practices, and global obligations
  • Identify and understand upcoming tariff, harmonized system, and legislation requirements
  • Interpret and apply your knowledge of global cross-border tariff schedules, measures, legislation, and compliance requirements
  • Develop and deliver data solutions to legislation for goods being imported and/or exported
  • Communicate complex matters to product and development for design decisions
  • Conduct root cause analysis
  • Provide support across teams
  • Triage customer incidents

Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in International Trade or International Trade Law
  • 10+ years of experience in tariff and cross-border trade consulting
  • Experience in complex customs compliance, regulatory requirements, and declaration reporting
  • Sound knowledge of the harmonized commodity coding system, tariff schedules in Mexico and Brazil, declaration reporting, and customs laws.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong analytical skillset, problem-solving capabilities, and attention to detail
